- We help formulate an exit strategy, often maintaining contact with the business owner for several years before engagement.
- Upon engagement, we research and write a comprehensive marketing packet for your business, effectively front loading the due diligence
- We maintain a complete confidentiality so that customers, employees, and vendors only know of the sale after it has closed.
- We look for the buyer in our extensive database of buyers and network of contacts and also advertise the business “blind” in business websites.
- We carefully qualify potential buyers, whether individual or corporate, not only for financial capacity, but for knowledge of the industry and the ability to successfully manage the business.
- We structure the deal to best suit the seller with a careful consideration of tax consequences, working with our attorney.
- We act as liaison between the buyer and seller, the lender, and the attorneys, CPAs, and appraiser involved in the transaction.
- We work closely with banks and other financial institutions to find and arrange financing. Most of our sales are financed through regional and national banks. In most cases, the business cannot be sold without outside financing so this is key.
We have a 100% success rate on selling the businesses we accept as clients, excluding clients who change their mind about selling or businesses that decline in sales after engaging us. We do not accept a client whom we do not feel we can help.
Valuation
If a seller simply wonders what his business is worth, our highly experienced personnel can give an accurate rough estimate based on the financials and are happy to do this free of charge. Even if there are no immediate plans to sell, it is good to know where one stands.
Pre-sale preparation – exit strategy
We can advise the seller on preparing for a sale so that he can obtain the best possible price when he is ready to go that way. If needed, we can refer the seller to a consultant to work closely with him to improve his profitability to get a good price. We maintain contact with some of our clients for years before they decide to take the plunge and sell.
